Thanksgiving is a time for giving thanks and spending time with family over a nice dinner. Write about your most unforgettable meal.

My most unforgettable meal was when I went to a hibachi restaurant. I had never been to a restaurant like that before. Going there was a whole new experience for me, so I did not know what to expect. When we were sitting down, I saw the stove. I never expected to see an onion volcano come out of that stove. Ordered just some rice and chicken, but I did not know how much serving size would appear on my plate. When he was doing his cool trick, I was astonished. It got to a point, though, where I just wanted to eat my food. After devouring the whole thing, I looked to my friends, and they all were finished. We le, ft anthence t, thenn I have always wanted to go back. Today in class, we did a group test. I luckily got a 100. Today I learned how to drain my fog lights.

Write about a time when you realized you needed to look out for yourself in a silly or harmless situation—maybe dodging a pop quiz, escaping a group chat argument, or remembering at the last second to submit an assignment. How did choosing wisely make your life easier?

I've chosen wisely many times when it comes to homework. I am a very big procrastinator so a lot of times I don't submit until the last day. this is bad because most of the time I will just forget. So many times I have remembered at the last second to submit something. This has saved my grade many times because if I didn't remember I probably would have a way lower GPA. I have never dodged a pop quiz I feel like i've actually gotten every chance for a pop quiz possible.  Today in class we finished reading the story. We worked on our writable assignment. Today I learned that my cvt-joint in my car is shot and I get to work on that for the next week.

Describe a time that you had an encounter with a homeless person, either directly or indirectly. What did you think and how did it make you feel?

One time when I was outside a store walking to my car a homeless man walked up to me. He didn't ask for anything but instead he just started to talk to me. He first started with how his life flipped so fast. I got in my car and rolled the window down because I was interested. After awhile he started talking about God. He had sad that God was helping get through this. We talking for about 10 minutes and I gave him a water. When I left I really felt persuaded and that day I went and my mom and I made care packages with tooth paste and other necessities. We stored them in the back of her car for if she stops next to a homeless person again. Today in class we read a story. We also talked about a broken cross. Today I learned not to fall for pranks with my friends.

Prompt: Write about what you are thankful for.

Im thankful for my car. It helps me get everywhere I need to go. It isnt the fastest thing. It isnt the best in gas. It is amazing though because it has so much room and space. I have used that car everyday for the last year and every day I love it more. I call it Gus(the gas guzzler). The memories from that car are some I am never going to forget. I love my 2007 4runner. Today in class we did vocab. I also listened to music. I learned how to speed tie m y shoes today.

The last scene forces readers to reinterpret Emily’s entire life. Write about a moment when new information changed your perception of a person or situation. How did that “plot twist” reshape your understanding, the same way Faulkner’s ending reshapes the story?

In the movie fight club. The ending specifically confuzled me. At first I thought I had it all figured out. But when I saw it was a split personality my whole perspective changed. I was confused because there were scenes in the movie that I couldnt wrap my head around. I like watched Brad Pitt beat someone but apperently it wasnt him all along. It also messes me up because he went to the girl and brought her home. Not the other guy, so then how did she find the house or go there. It doesnt add up to me and to this day I am still thinking about it. Today In class we took a test as a group. Everyone got a 100 on it. Today I learned the best clash royal deck.

Prompt: In “A Rose for Emily,” Miss Emily’s actions shock the reader—she kills her fiancé and keeps his body in her home for years. People often react with disbelief when they hear about real-life stories that seem just as unbelievable. Write about the most shocking or “craziest” news story you have ever heard. What happened, and why did it stand out to you? How did people react to it, and what does it reveal about human behavior?

I once looked up 'Florida Man' on December 10th. What came up first was a Florida man who used a flamethrower to settle a dispute in the parking lot. At first, I laughed because it was just such a random thing to have on hand. Realized that lives were in danger and people got seriously hurt. Others reacted the same way. I think human behavior, at least for me, I try laughing before any other emotions. In even hardcircumstancesns I still try to find a way to laugh. Today in class, we finished the story. We also complete a STEAL chart. Today I learned about an interesting story involving sleeping next to a dead body for 35 years.

Miss Emily’s house once represented pride and tradition, but over time it became a symbol of decay and isolation. Describe a place that holds deep memories for you—positive or negative—and explain how it reflects part of who you are or how you’ve changed over time.

A place for me would be the lake. I've grown up there pretty much, so I have spent a lot of time there. I have made many dumb mistakes, including in my life. Through these experiences, I feel like I really have learned. It has also helped me change. Improved my thinking for my safety. I love going there, but when I go,o remember my stupid ideas and mistakes. This is a place that has really been an influence on who I am now. Today in class, we listened to a story. We would also discuss each paragraph. Today I learned about a flower story in class.

Prompt: Think about the vocabulary words from Lesson Two. Write about a time you saw or heard one of these words outside of the classroom — maybe in a movie, song, social media post, or book. Describe how it was used and whether the context helped you understand the word better.

I have heard the word discerning many times. I never understood its meaning. I am still not quite sure. I think it just means that they catch something different with their eyes. The movie I have seen it in was a mystery movie, I don't remember the name to. I was younger and fell asleep. But when I had my eyes closed, I heard the word and was so confused. I don't remember much after, and I think that's when I fell asleep. Today in class, we did some notebook work. I also did some physics work. Today I learned how to adjust the brake caliper.

Thinking about "The Rockpile," what is something your parents forbade you from doing when you were growing up? Explain what it was and why they might have set that rule.

We had a trampoline in our backyard that was, fortunately, positioned right next to a small section of our flat roof. My brother and his friends were all older and would climb on top and jump onto the trampoline. I always wanted to do it. My brother would get in trouble, but he would still do it. I started doing it too. It was hard or hurt, but it was very exhilarating. My Dad and Mom told me I can't do it many times. It's probably because if I landed wrong, my head would fling and I would get a concussion. I still did it because I enjoyed the adrenaline. Rush, I even started doing tricks off the roof onto the trampoline. Today in class, we read this super long story. I also played around on Google Maps. Today I learned how to tighten my parking brake on my car.

Thinking about “The Rockpile,” which parent or guardian in your life has been the strictest when it comes to discipline? Explain how their approach to discipline has influenced you or shaped your behavior.

My dad has been more on the discipline side. I used to get a lot of spankings and the belt a lot. It was punishment for anything bad I did. Over time, I grew u,p and the spankings wouldn't hurt as bad. That's when the belt came i, and that one stung. This helped me mature a lot over time. Now I know to expect consequences from my actions. My mom was more gentle and would use her words. But even she would get tired of me and become upset. Today in class, we worked as a group. My group got a 77. Today I learned how to tune an ECU.

Words shape how we think, write, and interpret literature. Think about a time when learning a new word or understanding a specific term helped you better analyze a text, express an idea, or make your writing stronger.

The word aserthic means pleasing to the eye or of good style. It's like something appealing to our senses. This word has made my writing better because it has expanded my vocabulary. I use it in texts permanently to improve my writing. I feel like using the word makes my writing look more advanced and professional. Today in class, we worked on vocabulary words. We also completed 3 exercises. Today I learned how to operate a fire extinguisher.
