Reflect on the simile and metaphor worksheet. Which topic challenged you the most when creating your figurative language, and why? In your response, explain what made that topic difficult and how you worked through the challenge (or what you might do differently next time).

 On the worksheet, the metaphors were the most difficult thing for me. When ever I was doing a comparison, naturally, I use like or as. So you can see how trying to compare two different things without those words is difficult. I thought I had the hang of it, but when I reviewed the sentence there was a like or as hidden in there. I am not the best with metaphors now but I surely have improved. I will keep practicing because I cant only use similes to compare 2 different things. Today in class we worked a little on our computers. We also filled out a metaphor similes sheet.  Today I learned how to drain a transmission.

 Something I have realized about myself is that I can create many similes about my life. I learned more about the difference between similes and Metaphors. At first I couldn't tell the difference. I never understood comparing 2 things without using like or as. It was just so much simpler. Now I have seen many examples and it is more understanding of me on this subject. Today In class I listened to music. I also had to restart my project due to a misunderstanding. Today I learned about a Roxar car brand.

 I spend a lot of time with my friends. They play a major role in my life. I like going to lakeside and shooting lacrosse with them. When we have nothing to do, sometimes we just drive around. If I'm alone at home I will play a lot of apex. I play with with my friends too. That's when it is the most fun. My last favorite thing to do is to sleep. I will always have a passion for that. Today in class I wasn't there. I was on a plane. Today I learned that Delta is better then KLM.

 I show love with gifts, words, and actions. I show love with gifts by giving loved ones thoughtful gifts I think they would enjoy. I show love with words by saying things I hope make their day a great day. I show love with my actions by doing things that show my appreciation like giving random hugs.  I wasn't in class today. I think we had a chill day. I learned today that my friend is the best wrestler in the state.

 I feel like coming out of this I will feel more confident as writer. I am starting to unconsciously notice the emotions (pathos, logos, ethos). I feel from the essay I will remember quotes like "chorus of cynics" and calling them a "A loud voice but not a powerful one." I understand that continuing to read complex literature is still difficult for me, I will get better the more I do it. Another complex piece we've done was Trumps speech. This was one of the more complex than others as I never paid attention to the poems. It was a big chance for my progressive literature because the last book I have read was Harry Potter.  Today in class we wrote our essay on the rhetorical analysis of Barack Obama's "Yes, we can" speech delivered in New Hampshire. That took up my attention for the whole class. Today I learned how to find the rectangular coordinates with questions on ellipses.

 I have gotten better at analyzing the rhetorical devices inside of a text. This helps me because to do a rhetorical analysis I have to be able to find these in a document. No matter whether that document is a speech or something else. This helps me to analyze the speakers message because I can name the device being used to furthermore understand the message trying to be conveyed. Today in class we read a speech by Barack Obama. We also filled out a organizer for our own rhetorical analysis essay. Today I learned how to master downshifting in a 2009 Honda accord.

What is the best piece of advice of that your parent or guardian has given you? Tell what the advice was and what prompted you to ask the question.

 The best piece of advice that I was given was how to self improve. My dad told me that the only person I need to beat was my older self and every second is a new self. This helps to motivate me to go to the gym. It helps me accomplish much of all of the tasks I need to complete each day. When I am feeling sluggish I just think about how past selves weren't lazy during this time. This makes me constantly ask myself am I improving. If I feel the answer is no then I do something to make it a yes. Today we took notes. I also completely forgot this blog post. Today I learned how bad the traffic is to the airport.
