In Chapter 5 of Into the Wild, McCandless is strongly influenced by writers like Jack London, whose stories shape the way he thinks about adventure and wilderness.  The Percy Jackson series made me think I had secret powers. I always loved Poseidon so when I saw the movie for the first time I full thought I had powers. I would stare at water and try to move it. One time the water rippled but it was just my mom walking into the room. I read the entire series and when I finished I did deep dives on the internet about powers.

Today in class I talked with friends. I also read chapter 5.

Today I learned they will actually tow your car.
