Prompt: As we think about our upcoming Vocabulary Monday, tell me what is your favorite word RIGHT NOW? Why is it your faovorite word and how often do you use it?

My faviorate word is aesthetic. I use this word a lot to describe anything visually pleasing. I had used it before this class. I also use it because it makes me appear to have a rich vocabulary. Sometimes people ask me what it means, and I just say something looks good, but still not sure if I should use that answer. My parents like it when I use big words, so when I use aesthetic, they get happy. It makes me look smart to them.

Today in class, we worked on our presentations. I also listened to music.

Today I learned how to drive to Lake Oconee.

Of today’s 15 vocabulary words, which three do you think you will use the most in your speaking and writing this semester? Explain why each word feels useful or powerful to you.

Words shape how we think, write, and interpret literature. Think about a time when learning a new word or understanding a specific term helped you better analyze a text, express an idea, or make your writing stronger.
