In “Birches,” Robert Frost celebrates imagination as a way to escape life’s difficulties and reconnect with innocence. The speaker wishes to “get away from earth awhile” but also understands that he must eventually return to reality. Think about the role of imagination in your own life. How does imagination help you cope with challenges, boredom, or stress?

Imagination helps me cope with stress because it distracts me. When I am stressed, I want to take my mind off things. I'll imagine being at the lake. I'll imagine being on the boat. Imagination can also work with boredom because I get bored a lot. When I'm boredI'llll rewatch movies in my head. I'll even try to make movies in my head. It helps me cope with challenges by helping me find a way to solve them.

Today in class, we read a super long poem. We also annotated it.

Today I learned what a wheel bearing is.
