Based on the first 40 minutes of the film and Chapters 1–11 of the book, does the visual version of Chris’s journey make his choices seem more justified or more reckless than the text does? Explain how the medium (film vs writing) shapes your perspective.

To me they seem more reckless because it seems like his parents do care. They seem a little stern but it seems like they are supportive. They go to his graduation and take him out to dinner. His sister seems like she cares a lot. They even ask about college and offer to buy him a new car. He seems upset that they even offered to give him a new car. I understand the motives behind his actions from the book, but if I hadn't read the book then I would think he is a very reckless teen.

Today in class we watched some of the movie. We also had to answer these questions on illuminate.

Today I learned about brake calipers.
