Dickinson uses the metaphor of a funeral to describe her inner struggles. What metaphor would you use to describe your own mind?
Personally, I feel like a metaphor I would use for my mind is a busy New York train station. I think this because I feel like I'm always busy thinking. I also think I hear so many different ideas in my head, kinda like how you hear so many voices at a train station. I think constantly I think. For example, if it's a test, instead of thinking of the right answer, I think of all the ones that could be wrong. In some cases, this tends to be helpful, but it makes the test feel a lot longer. Also, it makes me confuse myself because sometimes a question has multiple right answers. It would then make me have to compare and restart the whole process.
Today in class, we read some of Dickinson's poetry. We analyzed it as a class and broke it down so we could understand how she was writing better.
Today I learned how to do an oil change.
